Title: Heterosis for yield and yield components in rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Abstract: Heterobeltiosis for grain yield ranged from - 41.07 to 38.20%, standard heterosis 1 (SH1) from -52.61 to 10.03% and standard heterosis (SH2) from 26.20 to 71.38%. The higher heterotic effect among yield components was observed for number of effective tillers/plant, followed by number of grains/panicle and panicle length. Top two high yielding crosses were IR68897A XCR2496 and Pusa6A X CR2496. These two crosses showed negative standard heterosis for days to maturity.
