Abstract: Survey of rice insect pests was conducted in the Punjab State during kharif 1975. The crop was surveyed at tillering stage, panicle emergence and preharvest stage. It was recorded that incidence of Sogatella farcifera, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis, Oxya sp and blue beetle Haltica cyanea was wide spread throughout the State at all the growing stages of the crop. Dicladispa (Hispa) armigera and Ecihnoc-nemas oryzae at the initial tillering stage, Cnaphalocrocis medinalis during panicle emergence and pre-harvest stage and Nilaparvata lugens and Leptocorisa varicornis during the pre-harvest stage of the crop were observed to be in abundance.
