The new curriculum is, in many ways, a triumph for inclusiveness. The perspectives of Indigenous Australians are well represented, both in terms of the curriculum's overall intent and the inclusion of Indigenous-specific content. This paper traces the 30-year campaign to incorporate an Indigenous perspective in Geography curriculum documents. This campaign originated in New South Wales in the 1980s and culminated in the approval of an inclusive Australian Geography curriculum in late 2012.
