This chapter draws on my engagements and experiences as an Aboriginal woman Arabana Udyurla working and living with a doctorate in Australia. For the purposes of providing a context in which to reflect on the detail of the above, some knowledge on my background, why I engaged in doctoral studies and the need to inform families of successful completion will initially be provided.
