Title: Postal, Telephone, and Face-to-Face Surveys: How Comparable are They?
Abstract: This workshop is dedicated to the discussion of the compatibility issues raised by the application of multiple survey instruments (home survey, phone survey, postal survey) in a given project. Two groups of circumstances are to be considered. In the first situation, different population segments are approached with different methods (for reasons of greater effectiveness) whilst trying to obtain the same type of information in all segments. In the second situation, two or more sequential survey operations are performed with different methodologies in an attempt to reach a greater proportion of the population under study. The key aspects to be discussed are the comparability of results obtained through those different instruments, and ways in which these different types of data might be integrated.
