Title: Effect of integrated nitrogen management on growth and yield of rice (Oryza sativa L.)
Abstract: A field experiment was conducted during rainy season of 2000 to study the effect of integrated nitrogen management on growth and yield rice. Plant height, effective tillers per hill, number of grains per panicle, 1000-grain weight and grain yield were significantly higher with the treatment receiving 50% N through chemical fertilizer and 50% N through fYM followed by the treatment receiving 75% N through chemical.fertilizer and 25% N through FYM. However, highest straw yield was recorded with the treatment receiving 75% N through chemical fertilizer and 25% N through FYM. Highest harvest index was obtained with treatment receiving 50% N through chemical fertilizer and 50% N through FYM.
