Abstract: The parliamentary and health service ombudsman, Julie Mellor, has said that she sees too many complaints that could have been resolved locally, resulting in people being left waiting for answers and delays in improving services.
The ombudsman’s office investigates complaints about government departments, other public organisations, and the NHS in England. It investigates around 4000 complaints a year and upholds around 37%.
