Title: Theory of Shear Thinning in Liquid Crystal Polymers, for the Lower Shear Rate Regime
Abstract: A nemato-hydrodynamic theory of shear thinning in solutions of lyotropic nematic liquid crystal polymers(LCP) consisting of semi-flexible polymer molecules is developed for the lower shear rate regime. Generalized power law behavior and crossover behavior are derived between the viscosity and the shear rate.
