Title: A Study of New Visual Design Expressions Using the Works of Art for Electronic Product Designs
Abstract: The products that have evolved in various forms make technological convergence or integration, due mainly to the development of digital technologies, and bring about design revolution, not just generating the changes in functions. As consumer needs become diverse, which stem from life style changes, a variety of electronic products’ designs are made, based on human’s experiences and affective values. Because of such a trend, the designs with new concepts are demanded through collaboration, which means partnership or alliance in the same or different types of business. In this contest, new visual design expressions are created through meeting between designers and brands, and between brands. This study purses to research Techart design, which is a new product design created through collaboration between domestic electronic goods design and the works of art. This study also seeks to present a direction of consumer-oriented product design that may represent various consumer sensitivities, and their new tastes, which stem from the development of technologies and designs. Designers need to present subjective and rational change directions in the age of changes. This study aims at researching and presenting product designs with new concepts by using factors satisfying both firms and consumers that are, using Techart design, not the product designs at the level of simply duplicating the works of art as they are.
