Abstract: There are two species of sequoia, Sequoia sempervirens (D. Don) Endl. (Redwood) and Sequoiadendron giganteum (giant sequoia). Sequoia sempervirens belongs to the gymnosperms, class Coniferophytes, order Coniferales, sub-order Abietales, family Taxodiacies, genus Sequoia, with one species sempervirens (Fig. 1).
