Title: European Union's Partnership for Africa on Human Right Policies. (Cooperation or Division?)
Abstract: Abstract “My MA thesis seeks to analyze human rights and democratization policy of the European Union towards Africa and evaluate its effects. The thesis begins with a historic overview of the policy and then tries to find out how (if) the policy has changed over time. Is Africa, being viewed by the EU, as a single unit for its human rights and democratization policy, or are there any differences between regions? Has instruments of the policy changed in the course of time? And how? How does the EU evaluate its policy in Africa? Is the EU consistent in its approach? What are effects of the EU's policy? Does the EU play in Africa its projected role of a normative power? The MA thesis is going to use especially primary sources of the EU in order to analyze its human rights and democratization policy and reports of NGOs on African countries to evaluate impact of human rights policies on the countries. Also articles from academic journals are to be used”.
