Title: Accountability and Advocacy: A National Framework For Measuring Community Colleges.
Abstract: Community colleges need a process through which they communicate data that paint the most accurate portrait of the sector and its unique role in American higher education. Lack of commonly accepted performance measures for community colleges has often led to a misunderstanding of the institutions and an underestimation of their effectiveness and the contributions they make. This article outlines the accountability systems currently in use and the challenges to developing a national community college accountability framework.
