Title: Trace Element Studies on Some Alkali and Adjoining Soils of Uttar Pradesh I. Profile distribution of molybdenum
Abstract: Three alkali and three soil profile samples from adjacent fields were analysed for total and available cobalt contents. The average total and available cobalt contents were 14.1 and 0.24 ppm in cultivated soils and 13.8 and 0.22 ppm in adjoining soils respectively. The available cobalt is considered deficient. A significant positive correlation was found between available and total cobalt contents in both the soil types. Also, significant positive correlation was found between available cobalt and pH of both the soil types. Total cobalt content was found to be positively correlated with total iron content and texture of both the soil types.
