Abstract: Mary Ainslie graduated over twenty years ago from UBC’s Faculty of Law, spent a year clerking for the judges of the Supreme Court of British Columbia and has been practising criminal lawyer ever since. In 1995 she joined B.C. Attorney General’s Criminal Justice Branch. Mary is primarily an appellate advocate who argues regularly in the B.C. Court of Appeal and less frequently at the Supreme Court of Canada. She has been an Adjunct Professor at UBC's Faculty of Law for over a decade and teaches a course on sentencing and an advanced evidence course called “Preventing Wrongful Convictions”.
