Abstract: 1 Ce recueil, riche de 18 contributions, réunit les actes d'un colloque tenu à Bordeaux et à Saint-Émilion les 3, 4 et 5 mai 2007.Poursuivant la réflexion développée lors d'un précédent colloque organisé à Poitiers et Fontevraud en 2004 (Martin Aurell et Noël-Yves Tonnerre [dir.],Plantagenêts et Capétiens : confrontations et héritages, Turnhout, Brepols, 2006) et à l'occasion des réunions de l'« équipe Plantagenêt », il s'inscrit dans les problématiques d'un groupe de chercheurs français et européens conduit par Martin Aurell (UMR CESCM, université de Poitiers) qui s'intéresse au monde Plantagenêt.La thématique des seigneuries choisie pour la rencontre de 2007 est plus particulièrement en relation avec un programme de recherche sur les résidences et les territoires seigneuriaux de la Gascogne médiévale développé par les médiévistes de l'université de Bordeaux 3 au sein de l'UMR Ausonius, auquel se rattache le deuxième co-organisateur de la rencontre, Frédéric Boutoulle.
