Title: The Use of Educational Technology by Faculty Members in The College of Educational Sciences at The University of Jordan and the Seven Principles for Good Practice in Undergraduate Education
Abstract: The study aimed at investigating how technology is being utilized and employed by faculty members in the faculty of Educational Sciences at The University of Jordan and whether the use of technology is in accordance with the Seven Principles for Good Practice in the undergraduate education. The entire population of the study was 62 faculty members, of whom 40 respondents had completed and returned the questionnaire. The overall response rate for the entire population was (65.0%). The findings showed that faculty members used teaching and learning strategies that are in accordance with the “Seven Principles”. Word Processor, the Internet and PowerPoint technologies are mainly used by faculty to support teaching and learning strategies. The majority consider themselves as expert in using word processing and the Internet. The study emphasized that faculty members have to use new technologies into there teaching, and not to limit their use to old models of technology. More training courses should be held for effective integration of educational technology by faculty members.
