The curator is devising an exhibition method so that communication between a visitor and exhibition is performed smoothly. However, it is difficult to judge whether a current exhibition method is effective for visitors. Therefore, performing exhibition evaluation by questionnaire and pursuit observational survey, and quality of exhibition and visitor's satisfaction rating have been improved. However, questionnaire survey is unstable so that data change by a question item and questioner's subjective element strong and not accurate, and pursuit observational survey is not efficient because measurable number of visitors is restricted. Therefore, we collect more exact and objective data efficiently and think it desirable to perform exhibition evaluation. Of course now, exhibition guidance systems that use PDA is expanding. It usually can provide information containing visual image and voice, not only text, learning efficiency of visitors is improved because they can check information. On other hand, system that evaluates exhibition explanation contents doesn't exist so much. The Kyushu University Kim-laboratory is developing personal concierge which made Kyushu National Museums experiment base. We are tackling construction of an assessment system in this project. At this laboratory, exhibition evaluation system has been researched. We had already proposed system that acquires visitor's action log data by using infrared ray sensor and technique that evaluate with objective data. In this paper, we propose technique of performing exact evaluation by using objective data and system which collects data efficiently and performs evaluation and presentation. This system can be formed by PDA, access points set in and server. We have them register age and sex when visitors visited, and carry PDA around when they move in museum. The data collected is reproduction time of exhibition explanation contents, reproduction frequency of exhibition explanation contents, the movement course of visitor, Staying time at museum and the time spent on each exhibition. Whenever a visitor operates (when start-stop button of contents is pushed) an iPod touch, we record time and content ID on a cellular phone. All data collection is performed without making a visitor conscious, and those are saved in a server after visitor's sightseeing. We analyze and evaluate four items from preserved data. Four items are staying time at museum, the high exhibition thing of interest of visitor, the movement course of visitor, and the interest level to exhibition description contents. Each evaluation includes age and gender, but we can estimate more in detail. The evaluation result is made to table and graph to visually present a concrete numerical value, and presented to curator. Furthermore, we devise it so that a curator can catch target data by mouse operation. By construction of this system, we can expect burden reduction of curator, communication between a visitor and exhibition which formed smoothly and improvement of visitor's satisfaction.Read More
