Title: Optimal polarization in bistatic scattering
Abstract: It is shown that the optimal polarizations for a scattering object in the bistatic scattering geometry can be described in a simple way, from which the backscatter case follows readily. For practical computation of optimal polarizations in bistatic scattering, it has been found that the bistatic extension of C. Graves (1956) is much more advantageous than the generalized version of E. Kennaugh (1952), since the solutions of these nonlinear equations are more difficult to obtain.< <ETX xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">></ETX>
