Abstract: This paper introduces a family of step-up DC/AC converters based on discontinuous-output pump circuits. The impedance-source inverter (ZSI) is a step-up DC/AC converter that is composed of a conventional inverter and an impedance network. This impedance network is actually a pump circuit with discontinuous output voltage. Considering concept of ZSI, other discontinuous output pump circuits can be used as front-end stage of a conventional inverter. Based on this concept, two Luo-source and Cuk-source inverters have already been proposed. This paper proposes two new boost DC/AC converters: Zeta-source inverter and Forward-source inverter. Also minimum constant boost control is presented for the proposed converters. Simulation results verify validity and performance of the proposed converter.
