Traditionally, CAD, CAM, and FEM/BEM are often treated as separate modules, which include continuous parametric models and discrete models. Due to the different representations, the post-processing in CAD or the pre-processing in CAM and numerical simulation is essential. The transitions from CAD to CAM and numerical simulation require substantial effort, and errors are inevitably introduced. In this paper, a novel framework of realising the subdivision-based seamless integration of CAD/CAM and numerical simulation was first presented. A unified representation was created with the subdivision method.Read More
