Title: Structural Monitoring System for Assessing the Long-Term Behaviour of the Confederation Bridge
Abstract: The Confederation Bridge SHM slow speed data management system was developed to collect and manage the slow-speed sensor data and fibre optic sensor (FOS) data from the bridge, and to provide tools to aid in the assessment of the real-time long-term continuous monitoring of the structural behavior of the Confederation Bridge using the data collected. A generic design of the SHM data management system was proposed and its implementation on the Confederation Bridge projected has proven to meet the system requirements. Several computationally-inexpensive and model-free data analysis tools have also been developed and tested with the data collected from the Confederation Bridge. The experience gained during the development of this system is also valuable for the development of other future systems. The system is now ready to be used as a tool by structural engineers and researchers in the analysis of the data and related behaviour of the bridge.
