The membrane under consideration, be it experimental or biological, is understood to mean an ultrathin bamer separating two aqueous phases. The question ‘can electronic processes occur in/across such a structure immersed in an aqueous environment?’ is answered affirmatively. In the second part of this paper, photosensitization by dyes and photoelectric effects in experimental bilayer lipid membranes observed recently are described.Read More
