Title: Marine Turtle Mortalities in Bahrain Territorial Waters
Abstract: Turtle mortalities in Bahrain waters were assessed by examining carcasses and a questionnaire survey of fishermen. The evidence indicates that the shrimp trawl fishery was responsible for most of the green and loggerhead turtle mortalities; however, wire fish traps were responsible for the hawksbill and olive ridley turtle mortalities. This study provides the first record of the olive ridley turtle in Bahrain's waters.
