Description: Surprising structural features were revealed by an X-ray study of the title compound (1): it crystallizes as dimer and one molecule each of the solvent TMEDA (tetramethylethylenediamine) is coordinated in spirane fashion to a Li atom. The equatorial position of the lithium is thus possibly a result of steric rather than electronic factors.
