Title: Environmental attributes in recreational boating. A case study from the Nøtterøy/Tjøme Skerries in southeastern Norway
Abstract: Introduction|A major objective of resource management in Nonvegian outdoor recreation is to provide users with quality experiences of nature (Nonvegian Ministry of Environment 1987). A quality experience is assumed to be related in part to the recreational setting or environment (Clark & Stankey 1989). Consequently, outdoor recreation management will often involve managing the recreational environment. In these efforts, managers need to identify the important features or attributes of the environment, and acquire knowledge about how these attributes are evaluated by the users. The objective of this was provide information on users' beliefs and attitudes regarding important environmental attributes in a Nonvegian recreational boating area.
