Title: Interpretation of Hydrogen Quadrupole and Methane Observations of Jupiter and the Radiative Properties of the Visible Clouds
Abstract: We describe the most detailed and physically realistic analysis yet of the published observations of the hydrogen quadrupole lines and the R-branch of the 3 ν 3 CH 4 band within the framework of our present understanding of the physical processes involved. The results give a self-consistent model for the structure composition of the Jovian atmosphere and the radiative properties of the visible clouds at the centre of the disc .
