Title: Nanoplasmonic photoconductive antenna for high power terahertz emission
Abstract: This work presents a nanoplasmonic photoconductive antenna (NP-PCA) for high power terahertz emission. Plasmonically matched metal nanostructures are integrated on a photoconductive bow-tie type THz antenna by incorporating microfabrication and electron-beam lithography. The plasmonic resonance wavelength of metal nanostructure is matched with the optical wavelength of incident pulsed beam. Metal nanostructures make high field enhancement of the pump beam. Photocurrent is highly generated by increasing light concentration near the photoconductive area. The results show that THz wave emission field increases 66%. This noble method can provide a potential of plasmonics for optoelectronic devices as increasing incoupling efficiency.
