Although generally thought of as common across some of its range, the G reen lizard is recorded as critically endangered by legislative regulations in the C zech R epublic and is on local R ed D ata L ists in G ermany, although the species is thought to be extinct in other parts of its range. Conservation management is necessary to guarantee the survival of the G reen lizard population at P rague Z oo and to coordinate conservation measures with the development of the Z oo site. A detailed conservation‐research study was carried out on a model population at the ‘ T iché údolí’ site to obtain the necessary knowledge to establish an appropriate management programme for the G reen lizard population at the Z oo. A comprehensive action plan for E uropean G reen lizard conservation will be launched at P rague Z oo in 2015.Read More
