Title: An Independent Workstation For CT Image Processing And Analysis
Abstract: This manuscript describes an independent workstation which consists of a data acquisition and transfer system, a host computer, and a display and record system. The main tasks of the workstation include the collecting and managing of a vast amount of data, creating and processing 2-D and 3-D images, conducting quantitative data analysis, and recording and exchanging information. This workstation not only meets the requirements for routine clinical applications, but it is also used extensively for research purposes. It is stand-alone and works as a physician's workstation; moreover, it can be easily linked into a computer-network and serve as a component of PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
