Title: Descriptions of new paracolletine bees associated with flowers of Eremophila (Hymenoptera: Colletidae).
Abstract: Ihlrteen species of Paraeolletini oligolectie (or probably oIJgoleetie) on flowers of Lremophi/a (Myoporaceae) arc described as new. They arc as follows: eleven species of l.e/oproelus sensu Slr/eto (eanl1lus, cap/lo, eonea\'U.I, erem/les, erem/lulus, kumar/na, laneeolatus, 1001f!./piJlpus, luciJnus and lucid/cinetus, collectively forming a monophyletic assemblage designated the L eap/lo speCies-group, and nasulus) and two closely related species of li'/chocolleles s. SIr. (eremophilae and //Iull/peel/nalus). All are characterized by elongation of the proboscis, an adaptation to the constricted corolla tu be of t he forage pia nts. The l.e/oproetus species, especially members of the cap/IO group, arc further charactemed by enlargemcnt of the labial pal pi. Males of L cap/IO and l.. lueiJnus are unusual in being much larger than the females and 111 having extraordinarily large heads and mandibles.
