Title: Harmonic calculation toolbox in industry application for adjustable speed drive
Abstract: Previous to electrical installation of large power nonlinear loads, a comprehensive design-study is often required in order to determine if the overall installation complies with international regulations in respect to harmonics. Current THD, voltage distortion and power factor are just few parameters to be aware off. This paper focuses on estimation of line-side harmonic distortion when connecting one or multiple six-pulse diode rectifiers to any supply transformer. Results are put into a practical PC software toolbox for harmonic estimation on real applications. Through a combination of an off-line database and new interpolation techniques very good results have been achieved. The final results obtained are very close to the measurements on real applications and the toolbox can be used for future ASD designs and installations.
