Title: Polymorphonuclear leukocyte chemotaxis in the absence of oxygen
Abstract: Human polymorphonuclear leukocytes were tested for chemotactic migration in the Boyden Chamber system. The attracting agent was activated human plasma. Experiments were carried out in a strictly anaerobic environment in which all the suspensions assumed a very low redox potential. Control experiments were carried out in an aerobic environment. Chemotactic migration occurred equally well under both conditions.
