For simplicity, the bridge and moving vehicles are simulated as two separate elastic structures. Two sets of equations of motion can be written with the adoption of virtual work principle and finite element method. The displacement equation and the vehicle-bridge interaction equation that make the two sets of equations coupled are proposed. According to GB/T7031-1986, the sample values of random road surface roughness are obtained. The dynamic equations for vehicle are solved in Matlab with Wilson's θ method, and then the bridge's dynamic equations are worked out by ANSYS, thus bridge's dynamic response under vehicular load are acquired. The numerical results show that the value of impact factor increases with vehicle's speed, decreases with the vehicle's distance from the bridge axis, and increases significantly with the deterioration of highway bridge deck roughness.Read More
