Title: Conformal Transformations between Einstein Spaces
Abstract: This contribution is concerned with the following question which has already been studied by H.W. Brinkmann [Br 2] in 1925: “When can an Einstein space be mapped conformally on some (possibly different) Einstein space and in how many ways can it be so mapped?” Brinkmann was able to answer this question completely in terms of local coordinates. The discussion of the corresponding global problem began much later, and it seems that so far no complete answer to the following question has been given (not even in A. Besse’s new book [Be]) : When can a complete Einstein space be mapped conformally on some (possibly non-complete) Einstein space?
