Title: Speed control friction experiment for different groove specimens
Abstract: In order to investigate the friction mechanism of copper-based friction materials in engagement, two types of common lubricants were used in the speed control experiments. A new test method for friction specimens with different grooves is proposed in the research. The effect of mixed, boundary and adhesion friction can be well embodied in the friction and lock-up process in experiment. The different lubricants and groove forms can impact the trends of the friction coefficient curves with increase in speed. The results implied that the sensitivity of the friction coefficient to speed was different under varying conditions of pressure and speed stages. By the investigation of friction static and dynamic ratio, it is proved that copper-based sintered friction material can work in heavy-duty condition and the one with double-arc grooves can engage more smoothly.
