Thanks to the low complexity of the decoders, they are nowadays very interesting for very-high-bitrate transmission systems (up to several Gbit/s). Various concatenation CSOC schemes are studied. An extensive statistical study of the output of various codes leads to the definition of an optimised feedback decoding algorithm. The usefulness of an interleaving between the two concatenated CSOC is then demonstrated. Finally, the performance of a composite coding scheme with two optimised CSOC, a block interleaving and a Reed-Solomon code is presented.Read More
