Title: Increasing Number of Communication Sessions with Small Satellites
Abstract: In developing countries like Egypt, we have a one-ground control station and we can make communication session with satellites like Egyptsat-1 only four times per day, This paper discusses the consequences of this problem and its impact on the utilization of satellite during satellite life time. Moreover, how to solve this problem by adding other Nanosatellites launched in neighboring orbits with the main satellite forming a group. They all connected together by using internet technology. Every Nano-satellite can communicate with ground control station and the others Nano-satellites in the same group, so that this will help to increase the number of communication sessions. This paper presents the impact of this solution not only on economic factor and technical systems in the design of satellite systems especially communication subsystem and orbit determination and launching facility. The paper used Egyptsat-1 as case study.
