Abstract: The application of Six Sigma always involves the implementation of a path: the development of a coherent set of activities that together help to achieve one or more planned results. Six Sigma projects always involve one or more business processes and related performance. Today the term Six Sigma, in addition to clearly evoking a measure of aspired defect/fault reduction, identifies a strategic programme of continuous improvement characterised by defined stages and the use of statistical and managerial tools. It aims to reduce the undesired variability of process and product performances, and the associated costs, for increasing customer satisfaction and market share. If the Six Sigma logic is applied to services then it is referred as the transactional Six Sigma (TSS). The path that is typically followed to develop a Six Sigma project in this area is the DMARIC: define, measure, analyse, redesign, implement and control. Controlled Vocabulary Terms Six Sigma
