Learn more.Copy URL Abstract The Diels–Alder reactions of the cyclic hexamer of furan and acetone C 6 with benzyne and DMAD (dimethylacetylenedicarboxylate) are described. In this way, C 6 can be exploited as a framework on which to place sets of carboxyl functions to obtain a novel family of furan-based calixarenes, such as 1, with potential applications in supramolecular chemistry.
