Title: Semi-active Vehicle Suspension Systems with Magnetorheological Dampers
Abstract: Magnetorheological (MR) damper is a kind of semi-active device. Its damping force can be controlled by input electrical currents. In this paper, a modified bi-viscous and hysteretic model is proposed to describe the bi-viscous and hysteretic behaviors of MR damper. The model parameters have direct physical significance. An analytical solution for a vehicle suspension system with skyhook damping is obtained where the effects of model parameters on the system response are investigated. And the semi-active law to realize the skyhook control is presented and the effects of the strategy are also discussed.
