Title: E-learning, blended learning or continued traditional classroom-based education?
Abstract: The literature on e-learning is quite rich. However, the literature addresses mostly topics such as technology developments and implementation requirements, while publications about user experiences and effectiveness studies about e-learning, especially concerning the comparison with more traditional ways of learning support, are more or less under-represented. This article is about an user-centred evaluation study comparing e-learning, blended learning and classroom based learning. The focus is on how students experience the respective approaches. The results show that most students prefer classroom based learning above e-learning and blended learning. The article ends with the implications of these results for the implementation of e-learning and blended learning.
