Different parking space display locations would result in different parking choice behaviors of drivers. According to the mass parking guidance strategy including dividing parking zones and parking guidance sign levels, parking guidance signs are divided into four levels. The display content of every level of parking guidance sign is analyzed in detail. The second level parking guidance sign needs a method to confirm the parking space display. For making full use of the guidance function of guidance signs and avoiding local congestion caused by guidance, a planning model for determining optimal parking space display of the second level parking guidance sign was put forward to minimize the travel distance of vehicles entering guidance zones. The model assumes that the choice of parking does not change after entering the guidance zones and illegal parking was not incorporated.Read More
