Abstract: Second-year family nurse practitioner students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill School of Nursing were required to submit a clinical portfolio as one of the final projects for the course “Child Health Issues in Primary Care.” The challenge for me as a teacher was to design an assignment that would allow students to tap into their creative side in an attempt to enhance their learning and retention of pediatric content.
