Abstract: Most of our patients, at the last moment of their lives would perhaps commit to memory that they had died because of cancer. It is up to us to enable them to understand how they can learn to live with it (BCT). The intention of this article is not to review all the well-known processes of rehabilitation in the context of cancer. Neither is it a treatise on highlighting a lesser-known rehabilitative attribute that assists the cancer patient in survivourship. This article seeks to highlight amongst the oncology fraternity the need to notice the critical role of the patient as a person from the stage of cancer diagnosis to that of survivourship (also death and dying). This continuum is unique to every patient undergoing treatment be it curative or palliative.
