Due to growing ...An inverter with high efficiency and good overall performance has become a necessity for power conversion systems which harness alternative energy, including solar, wind and fuel cell. Due to growing environmental sensitivities and rising oil prices, the need for such inverter system is greater in renewable energy sector. This paper presents a novel tank-less, non-resonant soft-switched inverter operating at high switching frequency. The proposed inverter achieves zero current/voltage switching without the use any resonant-tank circuit what so ever. Operating inverter at high frequency has perceived advantages such as better power quality, low distortion and good dynamic current control and reduction in size. The proposed inverter finds its high applicability in electric motor drives, PV and fuel cell powered systems.Read More
