Earlier visits to the island are mentioned, and the operation of the camp is discussed. The report describes climatic conditions and the physiography and geology of the area. Research programmes for Antipodes (and Campbell) Islands were concerned with botany, marine and land invertebrates, birds, mammals, and evidences of human habitation.
