Abstract: The translocation (8;21)(q22;q22) is a frequent karyotypic abnormality in acute myelogenous leukemia (AML). Most cases of AML with t(8;21) show an M2 phenotype according to the French–American–British (FAB) morphological classification. The translocation involves the AML1 gene [ [1] Miyoshi H. Shimizu K.
