Title: Transient control for diesel engine based on dynamic mathematical model
Abstract: The fuel efficiency and exhaust emissions are main drivers for the development of diesel engine control technology. Some of the most important challenges in transient control of diesel engine are the reduction of NOx (nitrogen oxides), soot emissions and BSFC (brake specific fuel consumption, increase of fuel efficiency) simultaneously during rapid engine speed changes. In this paper we propose a model-based control system with the state space model, robust filter and MPC controller. The application of this method in continuous working process of one cylinder diesel engine verified its feasibility and effectiveness by achieving precise reference tracking and reducing emissions.
