Title: Application of quantified risk analysis in landslide risk management practice: Hong Kong experience
Abstract: Landslides are a common form of natural hazard in Hong Kong that can cause significant loss of life and socio-economical consequences. Since the mid-1990s, the Geotechnical Engineering Office has pioneered the novel development of Quantified Risk Analysis (QRA) for landslide risk management. This paper outlines the technical development work that has been undertaken to support the application of QRA. Case studies are presented to illustrate the role of QRA in providing insights to tackle a range of slope safety problems.
