Description: Abstract Resonance energies of annulenes and radialenes were estimated on the basis of the π-bond energies of infinitely large annulene and radialene, respectively. The widely accepted Hückel’s (4n+2)π rule was verified for annulenes, whereas radialenes were substantially nonaromatic regardless of the number of π-electrons.
